Spa Specialist Program

The Spa Specialist Program allows the massage therapist to offer additional services within a spa not included within his/her Massage Therapy Licensure. These services can add valuable income and allows the employer to have one trained Spa Specialist instead of having the need to hire a massage therapist and esthetician.

Once the Massage Therapy Program is complete; the student enters phase two of the program, with 310 hours of intense skin and spa training. Students will learn about the skin  structure and function, as well as the proper use of various skin care treatments. Our curriculum will prepare students in the latest treatments of spa therapies, hydrotherapy, makeup-up application and hair removal. Students will explore subjects such as understanding the skin, infection control, mask and spa therapy. Students will perform facials, seaweed therapy, body wraps, exfoliating peels, relaxation treatments, stress recovery, massage of the neck and face and waxing. The course includes training in paramedical facial treatments such as microdermabrasion, ultrasonic facials, light therapy and advanced skin analysis.

Upon completion of the program, the student is prepared to pass the State authorized MBLEX Test, for Massage Therapy and then apply for their Florida Massage Therapy License, as well as, apply for and receive their license for Skin Care Hair Removal Specialist.

Testimonials

I am now the proud owner of Serenity Salon & Spa an 1800 square foot facility in St. Augustine, Florida. I really owe all of this to International Academy for giving me the education that allowed me to make this dream come true.

Kerri C.

After graduating from Intl Academy I went out into the real world of with such confidence and was ready for anything had to offer me. I started with Hair Cuttery and in 6 months became the manager. Several years later I opened my own salon with another Intl Academy grad and have successfully been in business over 4 years thanks to my fabulous education, love and support from Mez and the entire staff at Intl Academy!

Tara L.

As a veteran to the skincare and spa industry, I have collaborated and worked with thousands of estheticians worldwide. Many of them have graduated from the International Academy in Daytona Beach and speak very highly of the stellar education they obtained. I believe this school is one of the leading educational facilities in the US.

Philippe H.

Before I came to International Academy I was working a job that was both physically and mentally draining. I came to International Academy and fell in love with not only the facilities but also the staff. The teachers and administrators really care about their students and want them to succeed. The difference I found in this school vs. others was that at International we were like a family. I completed both the massage and skin programs and was prepared to go out into the real world. I graduated and obtained a great job in the same week. I chalk that up to the skills I learned at International Academy.
