Nail Technician Program

This program offers a full course of nail science and artistry preparing the student for real life work in a nail salon or spa. Graduates will be fully prepared to perform professional, salon-grade services and begin earning a meaningful income immediately upon licensure.

Students are taught how to apply enhancements such as acrylics, sculptured nails, poly-gel nails, dip systems, nail tips and nail art techniques. Nail wrapping, manicuring, pedicuring and gel polish uses round out the natural nail part of the curriculum. In addition, students will learn the science behind the service, and will cover subjects like infection control, personal ethics, salon management, customer service and how to market themselves.

The course prepares the student to receive his or her license as a Nail Technician in the State of Florida and seek employment within nail salons, full services salons, spas and resorts and podiatrist offices. In addition to our Nail Technician Program, International Academy offers a dual licensure program, Full Specialist. This 750 hour program combines the Nail Technician Program (240 clock hours) and the Skin Care, Hair Removal and Spa Training (310 hours) along with 200 additional clock hours in Advanced Make Up, which covers microblading, eyelash extensions, special effect applications and airbrush make up. The State of Florida issues a Full Specialty License whereby no examination by the State is given.

Weekly Class Schedule for 240hr Nail Technician Program

Full-time Days: 30 hours per week, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Part-time Days: Minimum of 20 hours per week, 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Part-time Nights: Minimum of 20 hours per week, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
