Do you have a passion for all things beauty and are looking to start your beauty education? Then consider International Academy’s cosmetology program. Our program has training that takes you from on-trend coloring techniques to precision cutting and everything in between!

We have made it our mission to help students succeed in their education and their futures in the industry. Our programs are designed to be in a hands-on learning environment to help you better prepare. You can work with real clients under the direction of our talented, licensed instructors at the student salon.

Our Cosmetology Program

The overall goal of our cosmetology program is to train students in the skills needed in order to be successful in the future. Our program can teach creative hair styling, the science behind skincare, the art of nails, and more! All while preparing you to sit for your Florida state board exam.

Our cosmetology program is broken up into four levels:

• Basic Skills: Orientation of the field of cosmetology using theoretical and practical in a classroom setting, working on manikins. While we start our curriculum with bookwork, you can quickly move on to the next phase.
• Intermediate Skills: A continuation of basic skills and expanding concepts of cosmetology using theoretical and practical in a classroom setting, working on manikins and live models. In this phase, you can start practicing your skills with actual clients.
• Advance Jr. Skills: Continuation of theoretical and practical skills in school lab salon setting working with clients and perfecting of skills and knowledge required for the workplace. You can expect to spend more time working with clients at our school salon and spa, where all services are provided by students under the supervision of licensed professionals.
• Senior Skills: Preparation for state board licensure examination,
  theoretical knowledge, and practical skills will be perfected to employment competency level. Our goal is to make sure you’re prepared to become a licensed professional, and our Senior Skills section can help you get there.

Check Out Our Student Kits

As a part of our curriculum, you’ll be given student kits depending on what level of our cosmetology program you’re at. These kits give our students the opportunity to use professional products and tools that you’d find in professional salons. Not only do you get to use these tools during your time in school, but once you graduate you’ll be able to take them with you!

Before you can apply for our cosmetology program, you must meet the following requirements:

• All applicants must be beyond the age of compulsory education which is sixteen (16) years old
• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
