Instructor Spotlight: Meet Olivia Richeson, USMC Veteran and Nail Art Specialist

At International Academy, our instructors bring more than just technical skill into the classroom—they bring real-life experience, passion, and purpose. One of those incredible educators is Olivia Richeson, a Nail Instructor whose journey is as inspiring as the art she creates.

From the Marine Corps to the Nail Table

Originally from The Villages, Florida, Olivia’s path to the beauty industry is anything but ordinary. She proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 2007–2012, including a deployment to Iraq in 2008–2009. Her time in the military instilled lifelong values of discipline, leadership, resilience, and service—qualities that now shape the way she teaches and mentors students.

After completing her service, Olivia found herself searching for a creative outlet that aligned with her physical needs. That’s when she discovered nails.

Nails as Therapy, Creativity, and Purpose

For Olivia, nails became more than a profession—they became a form of physical therapy and self-expression. Creating nail art allowed her to channel creativity without aggravating her disability, and it opened the door to a career she truly loves.

A graduate of International Academy, Olivia went on to become a spa suite owner in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, turning her passion into a successful business. Today, she brings that real-world experience back to the classroom, helping students see what’s possible beyond graduation.

Specializing in Limitless Creativity

Olivia specializes in 3D and 4D nail art, pushing boundaries and encouraging students to explore their own artistic voice. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that creativity has no limits—and that every student has a unique style worth developing.

In her classroom, students don’t just learn techniques; they learn confidence, perseverance, and how to believe in themselves.
