The first step to enrolling is choosing the right beauty school for you! When considering schools, everything from financial aid to schedule options can make a difference. Here are a few questions to ask yourself (and the admissions team!) when deciding on a school:
- Does this school offer my desired program?
- What is included in the program?
- Are part-time or flexible schedules offered?
- What is unique about this school?
- Does this school accept financial aid?
- Does this school help students with career placement?
- What qualifications do the teachers have?
- Can I see myself fitting in at and enjoying this school?

One of the most important things you can do when choosing a school is taking a tour! We always recommend touring your top choices before enrolling. This allows you to get your questions answered in person, meet the staff, and see if you could picture yourself as a student there!

Once you’ve chosen your school, the next step is to get your finances in order. At International Academy, we are proud to offer financial aid to those who qualify. Send in Your Application
You’ve decided on a school that feels right for you. Check. You have a financial plan to help you get there. Check. You are officially ready to apply!
This step will vary depending on the school. At International Academy, you can fill out your application directly online! Some schools may have you request a physical application from them. Application requirements will also vary by state, but at International Academy, here are a few things you will need
- A high school diploma, GED equivalency, or Home School diploma
- Drivers License or Picture ID
- To be at least 16 years of age

Once you have submitted the required documents and paid any application fees, you are ready to go! Your school will notify you if your application is missing any required information or if anything further is needed. If accepted, you are ready to begin your beauty school journey on your first day of class!
Start Your First Day With Confidence!
Your last step with enrolling in beauty school is beginning classes! We know the first day of school can be both exciting and a little nerve-wracking. Don’t worry! The staff and instructors will be there to help you every step of the way.
Here are just a few things you may want to bring to your first day to help you feel confident and ready to go:
- Dress-code appropriate, professional outfit
- Pen or pencil and paper to take notes
- Your professional kit
- Comfortable shoes
At International Academy, our classes start every Monday (excepting a few holidays–Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day). Be sure to show up on time and come prepared!
